OUR COFFEE IS DISTINCTIVE, SOPHISTICATED & SUSTAINABLE

In the last year our coffee, like us, has made quite journey. Having originally used a coffee that was roasted in large batches we realised that our tastes have evolved and wanted something different, something that was crafted by somebody truly Artisan. The coffee in our shops is now supplied by Horsham Coffee Roaster who only roasts in small batches by hand and they source directly at origin. The result is that our shops receive their coffee beans 5 days after roasting so that by the time it is in your cup you are drinking only the freshest.

Now that we have the coffee we love our mission is to share that with you, our customers. When you drink a coffee from a FCB not only will you be able to order an amazing house roast, using our bespoke Trailblazer Blend, but also an ever-changing Single Origin Guest Roast supplied to us by some of the best, as well as up and coming, independent Artisan roasters the UK coffee scene has to offer.

So what about the future? Our aim is to continue to bring to you some of the best independently roasted coffee and hopefully impart a little bit of what we know about it along the way.

We are passionately obsessed with the quality of the coffee we purchase as green beans and this passion continues all the way to the final cup...

All the coffee we purchase has been ethically traded with full traceability back to the farm or co-operative. In many cases we have full transparency of the financial trail giving us the peace of mind that each farmer has been well paid for the outstanding coffee they produce.

Most of our coffees are roasted in the light to medium range. This allows the individual characteristics of the coffee to dominate leaving behind the more well known 'roasty' flavours that many people associate with coffee. For more information on our blends and single origins please have a look at our website.

Mission

Our coffee beans are our paint and we are devoted coffee artists… Or so we like to think! As roasters, we pick the finest characteristics from each bean and then hand-craft our roasts to highlight their delicate qualities...

It sometimes takes a lot of time and experimentation but we believe in doing the bean justice.

There is no right or wrong with coffee; everyone has a different palate and a valuable perspective to offer. We harness the collective opinion of our customers and friends and draw on our own past as Baristas to make our coffee taste at its best. This conversation helps us to improve and evolve with each batch we roast.

Delicious coffee starts at the source of the plant and is picked, washed and transported with care. Knowing the origin of our coffee and that it is responsibly sourced is of vital importance to us...

...it often costs more this way but this ultimately means a sustainable source of production AND better tasting coffee.

Our roasting philosophy in theory is very simple; showcase the bean in the best possible light and be as true as possible to its origins.

The best quality coffee from a traceable source, carefully roasted, delivered fresh - that is speciality coffee and it is delicious, this is what we do at Cast Iron Coffee Roasters. And nobody ever argues with deliciousness!
