ABOUT THE FLYING COFFEE BEAN

n p

In the early 1990’s, DP The Drinks People were responsible for bringing the coffee revolution that began on the high street into the exhibition and event business. Now, some 20 years later, there is a new revolution in coffee, often referred to as ‘The Third Wave of Coffee’ and again we are bringing it to the event business. Independent roasters, roasting in small batches around the country, are leading the way in an increasingly specialised and thriving coffee culture. The definition of ‘specialist’ coffee has moved on.

DP The Drinks People have been developing its FCB Artisan Espresso Bars brand over the last 18 months. We now have nine sites, primarily based in the South, with a further two shops at the NEC.

FCB has become a focal point for the Artisan Roasting community, celebrating their passion and diversity of product. We currently work with five different roasters around the UK, and as we grow the list of roasters is growing with us.

With the product changing, so have our expectations and skill levels. Our in house Barista Trainer, works with individuals and groups continually training and supporting our staff teams. Our Management Team and Lead Baristas get involved in cupping events and visiting the roasters who are supplying their outlets. It is now a competitive business within FCB to make the perfect Flat White!

Our Story so far

We opened the first Flying Coffee Bean kiosk on a train platform in 1998 with the intention of providing top quality coffee and pastries, as quickly as possible to the rushing commuters.

We have since been slowly growing the brand and today we have shops in 10 locations across the country.

Our name might have been shortened, but our values have stayed the same: Quality, Service and Speed.
